Pathway
Yeshurun is an active modern orthodox synagogue which offers a varying programme of social, educatiional and religious activitise for the youth of the South Manchester Jewish Community.
Cheder
This takes place on Sunday mornings for pre-Bar/Batmitzvah children.
Yearn 2 Learn
These clubs offer relaxed after school hours learning for post-Bar/Batmitzvah teenagers. Boys meet on Wednesdays 6:45 to 7:30 pm while girls meet on Thursdays at 8:00 to 9:15 pm.
Yesh Kids Club
Fun activity based learning for Years 1 to 5 on Wednesdays from 4:00 to 5:30 pm.
Children Services
There are regular Shabbat morning services, catering for two age groups up to 12 years. These are taken by parents. Enquiries, and volunteers for the parents' rota via the Shul office.
Youth Services
These minyanim take place on Chagim and every Shabbat morning, except when there is a barmitzvah or a batmitzvah. The services are run by the youth under adult guidance, and provide an opportunity to become more familiar with synagogue services in a youth-friendly atmosphere. Parental encouragement for their teenagers to participate in the minyanim helps them to feel comfortable and familiar with services later in their adult life.
Yesh Youth Council
This was formed in September 2004 for children of secondary school age.. The Council organises social youth events such as "Purim Pandemonium" and a "Movie & Smoothie" evening, on a regular basis. The Council has its own room, which has been newly painted and is fully furnished.
Bnei Akiva
Every Shabbat, this youth group for 6-17 years ages meets at Shul. Play games, fill up your Saturday afternoon, and meet up with your own age group across the UK. Contact leaders via the Shul office for more details.
JLGB
The Jewish Lads and Girls Brigade meets locally every Monday at North Cheshire Jewish Primary School. There are two groups; one for ages 8-11 meets at 6:30 pm, while the 11-16 group meets at 7:15 pm. FZY and Habonim
Many young Yeshurun members join these groups which serve the South Manchester Jewish community as a whole.
South Manchester Maccabi
There are many opportunities for South Manchester Jewish youth to participate in football and other sports. An exciting development for Spring 2010 is Stockport Council's building of a major sports facility for Maccabi use in the grounds of North Cheshire Jewish Primary School, just five minutes drive from Yeshurun.
